Electrics

Gibson SG Junior, 1965 USA.  £1200

Refinished in white over 20 years ago but has now faded to a nice yellow in places.  Had a humbucker fitted at some time but now has a new Seymour Duncan Antiquity P90.  The guitar is light and resonant and plays well.

Fender Telecaster, 1977 USA.  £895

 Has been routed for a humbucker in the neck position.  It's now got a new scratchplate and a new set of Fender Custom Shop No-caster pickups. Plays well and sounds better than it would have originally!  It's pretty cheap due to the mods.  New case included. More pics here.

 Hofner Committee thinline, 1961 Germany. £1500

A very nice, original example of a fairly rare guitar.  No major issues with this one and it has a very high level of decoration and finish.  Some lacquer cracks on the top but otherwise OK. As it is one of the second series it does have a truss rod and the neck is straight and plays very sweetly.  Has non original hard case.  More pics here.

Gibson Melody Maker, 1962 USA.    £750. 

We all did 'unfortunate' things in the '80's and this is a good example.  It started out a as a twin pickup Melody Maker in the 60's .  It was 'hot-rodded' twenty years later when these were cheap and not collectable.  It's been refinished (very well however) & had Bill Lawrence humbuckers, a Badass bridge and higher spec Kluson machine heads added.   It's not all bad news - it really sounds huge and plays like butter.  So a playable 60's Gibson for the same money as a new Strat.  It's up to you.  Non original hard case included.

Walnut finish. In good playing order. Has had Gibson 57 reissue pickup fitted at the bridge and the scratchplate is off an earlier model Special. More pictures here.

Fender Musicmaster, 1978 USA.       £425

All original except for the screws holding the bridge plate.  A few marks to the body but nothing serious.

G signature Venus, USA 2004. With case.  £325

Very, very rare American made guitar.  Ash body, maple neck, Seymour Duncan humbucking pickups, G Point trem.  Cost in excess of $1000 when new.  This one is almost as new.

 Blue Moon. Handmade custom guitar, UK?  £375

Where was it made? I don't know. When was it made? I don't know. Why was it made. Cos it's cool (notice the phases of the moon on the fingerboard & the abalone inlay around the top). It's only Rock & Roll but what else is there?

Ramirez Ano 125, Spain 2007        £895

Ramirez Ano 125 as new (only a few months old) and unplayed.  Cedar top, rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard. New price is around £1200.  Comes with new hard case. More images here

Nice playable example of a fairly rare guitar. Some scuffs and binding repairs, otherwise original.
